Two men have been arrested in connection to a shooting that took place in Stoney Creek earlier this year.
On Jan. 16, gunfire broke out just a block away from the Stoney Creek Recreation Centre around 6:30 p.m.
The ensuing violence saw stray bullets hit nearby vehicles and buildings along King Street West and “caused a significant concern in the community,” police say.
Investigators turned up quickly and cordoned off part of King Street between Wardrope Avenue and Walker Avenue.
Those living in the surrounding high-rises watched for several hours while investigators canvassed the area and searched for evidence.
Thankfully, no one was injured, and today, police say two men have been arrested in connection to the incident.
Alexander Carnicelli, 29, of Hamilton, has been arrested and charged with 14 offences; they including including assault with a weapon, three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to an order and reckless discharge.
The other individual, Eathan Gustin-Grolleman, 29, of Hamilton, has also been arrested and is facing 14 charges, including assault with a weapon, three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to an order and reckless discharge.
“We encourage anyone with information regarding this shooting, or any other related incident, to come forward,” Hamilton police said.
