Police have arrested a man from Hamilton Tuesday for the second time connected to a human trafficking investigation in the GTA.
Officers arrested 31-year-old Mohammed Karim Mohammed on July 18 and charged him with 8 offences including trafficking people under 18 years old and benefiting from trafficking.
Peel police say a second person made a report alleging that Mohammed held control over several aspects of the person’s life and forced her to perform sex while profiting from it.
Investigators re-arrested Mohammed and have charged him with additional charges connected with procuring a person and exercising control over that person.
Mohammed remains in custody pending a bail hearing in a Brampton courthouse at a future date.
Detectives believe that there may be additional victims in the GTA, and encourage anyone with information to contact police.
