A large police presence occupied part of Hagersville for several hours early Wednesday before a person was eventually arrested.
Police took to social media around 2:40 a.m. to advise the public that there would be an increased number of officers on Main Street and King Street.
For several hours, officers in tactical gear waited outside a residence in the area, laying out spike strips and police barricades.
Officials said online that there was no threat to public safety but asked the public to avoid the area.
One person was arrested around 6:30 a.m., but it remains unclear why.
