Open Streets Hamilton is returning this weekend to transform one of the city’s main thoroughfares into a pedestrian-friendly, communal space.
On Sunday, King Street will be closed from John Street to Gage Avenue, between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It’s an annual event put on by the City of Hamilton that promotes physical activity, environmental sustainability and social inclusion.
The car-free event features a wide array of events and activities from live music, vintage pop-up stores and local eats.
Along King Street, there will be five main “activity hubs” at the intersections of John Street, Wellington Street, Wentworth Street, Sherman Avenue and Bernie Morelli Secondary School.
There will also be two “mini hubs” at Barnesdale Avenue and Ferguson Avenue South.

- Sanford Avenue;
- Wentworth Street;

- Wellington Street; and
- John Street.
The King and B-Line bus route will take a westbound detour on Cannon Street. For more information on HSR schedules, click here.
If you can’t make it out this weekend, Open Streets Hamilton will be hosting another event on June 23rd.
