Ontario police charge man after assault at Norfolk hospital

A 54-year-old man is facing several charges following an assault of an employee early Thursday morning at a Norfolk County General Hospital.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to reports of an assault just before 1 a.m. to the hospital on West Street in Simcoe.

Officers allege that a man had threatened and physically assaulted a hospital employee after being asked to leave the premises.

Detectives report that the hospital employee was not injured.

Police arrested Gary Hill from Norfolk County and have charged him for assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and for failing to leave the premises when directed.

Hill is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at a Simcoe courthouse at a future date.
