Ontario investing $500K to Hamilton community agencies

The Ontario government is investing $504,900 to upgrade and repair three children and social services agencies in Flamborough-Glanbrook.

This funding is part of the government’s $21.68 million 2024 investment to the Partner Facility Renewal Program to maintain agencies that connect people to safe and accessible facilities.

The program is a funding initiative providing funds to agencies like shelters for women and children, homes for daily support for people with disabilities, and facilities for survivors of human trafficking.

Minister of Children, Community and Social Services Michael Parsa says that community agencies strengthen communities and “connect people to the services they need, where they need it.”

The program is planned to invest in 642 projects across 181 agencies in Ontario including the following three found in Hamilton.

  • $77,400 will be provided to CHOICES Association Inc. on Ofield Road in Dundas.
  • $197,200 will be allocated to help Rygiel Supports for Community Living on Cranbrook Drive.
  • $230,300 will help The Good Shepherd Centre of Hamilton.

MPP for Flamborough-Glanbrook Donna Skelly appreciated that the money will help repair and upgrade necessary facilities and support accessible safe spaces.

“Our local children’s and social services organizations are at the heart of our community and our government is proud to invest in Flamborough-Glanbrook,” she said in a statement.
