Police have closed portions of Thompson Road East in Norfolk County after a fatal crash between a motorcycle and an SUV Friday morning.
Officers responded to a crash at Thompson Road East after 7:30 a.m. involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
Emergency crews sent the driver of the SUV to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, but pronounced that the motorcyclist died at the crash site.
Police made a post on X Friday morning that they closed Thompson Road East between Duncombe and Cockshutt roads and for motorists to avoid the area.
Detectives are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
Norfolk County officials warn drivers planning to attend the Friday the 13th event held in Port Dover to be aware of heavy traffic in the area and to drive carefully.
