Niagara police seize vehicle used in fatal hit-and-run in Town of Chippawa

Niagara police have seized a vehicle they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in the Town of Chippawa.

On Wednesday, police said they seized a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade following their investigation into the discovery of a body on the side of Sodom Road earlier this week.

No one has been arrested yet, and authorities are continuing to turn to the public for information.

On Monday morning, officers were called out to a stretch of Sodom Road near Weaver Road, where they found the body of a man who had been hit by a car.

At the time, officers put out a call for information and asked nearby residents to review any surveillance and dashcam footage they had, spanning as far back as April 4.

Their request remains, but the timeframe has shrunk.

Officers are now requesting that those in the area only check back as far as midnight on April 8 and 7:30 a.m. on that same day.
