About 20 minutes away from that location, Niagara Police responded to another call just before 1 a.m. in the Honsberger Avenue and 15th Street area.

A 41-year-old migrant farm worker from Mexico was driving in a tractor with two other men along 15th Street.

The vehicle turned into a driveway, causing it to overturn. The man was thrown from the tractor, which then rolled on top of him.

Bystanders were able to lift the tractor but the man succumbed to his injuries.

Niagara police also conducted a R.I.D.E program over the weekend in Welland and Thorold and made two arrests for impaired driving.

About 700 vehicles were stopped and 20 drivers were asked to provide breath samples.

Niagara Police were not available for an interview on Sunday.
