Niagara police investigating smash-and-grab theft at Seaway Mall

Niagara police are investigating after a smash-and-grab theft occurred on Sunday at a jewellery store in Welland’s Seaway Mall.

Police say a lone suspect entered the People’s Jewellery Store, smashed a display case, and stole several items before running through the mall and exiting out the south doors.

He is believed to have fled towards the Holy Cross Cemetery on Woodlawn Road.

No employees or patrons were physically injured as a result of the theft, and the value of the stolen items has not been released.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 30-years-old, five-foot-eight, with a medium build.

He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, a black toque, and black sweatpants with a Puma logo on the front left.
