Niagara police hold training, warn public of explosions, simulated gunfire

Niagara regional police are alerting the public to outdoor training the emergency task unit will be taking part in over the next three days.

Officials say the training will start Wednesday, and run until Friday afternoon.

People in the area of College Street and Morgan Avenue are being told to expect the sound of simulated gunfire, controlled explosions, and the smell of smoke.

There will also be an increased police presence around the training site.

Niagara officials are asking residents to stay away from the area.
