Niagara police arrest 1 boy, 3 males at large after gang sexual assault

Police have arrested one boy and are looking for three males connected to a gang sexual assault that happened Sept. 15 in St. Catharines.

Detectives learned that four male suspects had allegedly committed a break and enter at a home in the area of Welland Avenue and Lake Street in the City of St. Catharines to assault a woman.

Investigators say the suspects stole multiple items from the woman’s home before leaving the woman with non-life-threatening physical injuries.

Officers executed search warrants at homes in the cities of Niagara Falls and St. Catharines on Friday and arrested a 17-year-old boy from Niagara Falls.

The boy was charged with multiple offences involved with breaking and entering and for sexual assault.

The boy is being held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled to take place Saturday at a St. Catharines courthouse.

Niagara police are looking for a 17-year-old boy from St. Catharines, 24-year-old Kieren Ennis from Atwood North Perth, and 19-year-old Larry L. Smith from St. Catharines as part of the investigation into the assault.

Detectives say they have reason to believe the assault was targeted.
