Niagara police arrested a 34-year-old man Wednesday following the investigation of the human trafficking of a woman.
Officers commenced an investigation earlier this month into the trafficking of a woman throughout the City of Niagara Falls.
Detectives identified 34-year-old Jose Defrias from Niagara Falls as a suspect and arrested him on Wednesday.
Defrias is facing charges connected to trafficking a person and for advertising another person for sexual services.
Defiras is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse later that same Wednesday.
Police say they are continuing the investigation suspecting that there may be more victims of human trafficking.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
