Niagara detectives seek suspect in Grimsby break and enter

Niagara police are looking for a suspect involved with a break and enter Sunday morning at Southward Community Park in Grimsby.

Officers attended a belated break and enter call at a concession building on 84 Mud Street West just after 8 a.m.

Investigators learned that on Saturday between 9:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. an unknown man allegedly broke into the building.

Detectives say the suspect pulled a metal signpost from the ground and used it to force open the rollup concession counter door. They say the man allegedly stole a cooler and food, while causing nearly $6,000 in damages.

Police describe the suspect as a white man with a thin build, who was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt or jacket that has a symbol or reflective material on the back, and a baseball cap.

Officers say the man was driving a red and black Honda ATV that had a white Honda wing decal on the gas tank sides and three functional headlights.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
