Motorcycle passenger dies in 5-vehicle Hwy 6 collision near Port Dover

A five-vehicle collision involving three motorcycles claimed the life of a Sudbury resident on Saturday near Port Dover.

The incident occurred around 4:55 p.m. on Highway 6 near Blueline Road and involved three motorcycles, an SUV and a pick-up truck.

Norfolk OPP and local fire and EMS members attended to assist following the collision.

A passenger of one of the motorcycles, a 33-year-old from Sudbury, was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the same motorcycle was transported to a trauma center with serious injuries.

The operator of a second motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Four other vehicle occupants were not injured.

Highway 6 was closed between Blueline Road and Pheasant Trail and Blue Lake Avenue while police investigated.

It is not yet known if the motorcyclists and passengers involved in the collision were in the Port Dover area for the Friday the 13th motorcycle event.
