Mexican worker dies in farm vehicle rollover in Lincoln

A 41-year-old man from Mexico has died after a farm vehicle rolled on him early Sunday morning in the town of Lincoln.

Niagara and Lincoln police, fire and emergency services responded at 12:24 a.m. to an assist ambulance call at 15th Street and Honsberger Avenue after a Kubota farm vehicle with three occupants rolled over while turning into a driveway.

The Mexican man was thrown from the vehicle and it rolled on top of him. Bystanders were able to lift the vehicle off of him and resuscitative efforts by paramedics were made, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other two people on the Kubota were not injured.

A section of 15th Street had been closed for the investigation but has since re-opened.

Detectives were called in to investigate and are being assisted by the NRPS Forensics Services Unit. The Ministry of Labour was also contacted and attended the scene.
