McLeod Road in Niagara Falls between Alex Avenue and Drummond Road is currently closed following an early morning accident between a cyclist and a motor vehicle.
The collision occurred around 1 a.m.
According to police a passenger on the bicycle was transported from the scene in critical condition. The operator of the bicycle was also transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Police are instructing the public to find “alternative routes” this morning.
Detectives from Niagara Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit and its Forensic Services Unit are investigating the circumstances and cause of the collision.
