Mayor of Brantford announces resignation

The Mayor of Brantford says he’s resigning from his position to pursue a career with the province’s License Appeal Tribunal (LAT).

The LAT is a provincial body that resolves legal disputes surrounding compensation claims and licensing activities.

Mayor Kevin Davis shared the news on Facebook Wednesday, saying the “once-in-a-career opportunity” will allow him to spend more time with his family and return to his original career path of practicing law.

“Over the past two terms, we have achieved remarkable milestones together,” he said.

“From revitalizing our downtown core to enhancing our infrastructure and fostering economic growth, our collective efforts have significantly improved the quality of life for all Brantford residents.”

Davis has served as the city’s mayor since 2018.

CHCH News will host Mayor Davis on Friday during Morning Live.
