A man who was seriously injured following a shooting outside a residence near Clifton Hill has died, Niagara police say.
Homicide detectives are now investigating the incident and are asking the public to avoid the area around Epworth Circle.
Authorities notified the public of the incident shortly before 8 p.m. Monday.
One man was found at the scene near St. Lawrence Avenue with life threatening injuries, but was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Police and forensics teams remain on scene as of Tuesday morning.
At this time, no arrests have been made.
“It’s pretty quiet around here,” a neighbour told CHCH News. “We’re outside … I was playing with my grandchildren and all this went down. It’s pretty shocking. Couldn’t sleep too good last night.”
