A 41-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in a home in Brantford early Friday afternoon.
Police say they received a call around 12 p.m. about concerns for the well-being of a woman in a home on Hampton Street.
The 40-year-old woman was found dead in the home when emergency crews arrived.
Officers also discovered a man in the home who was in medical distress. Paramedics brought him to hospital for treatment.

In a press release Monday, police say the 41-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder. He was held for bail.
Detectives say the victim and the accused know each other.
Brantford police say there is no threat to public safety.
“Out of compassion for the families, the names of the deceased and accused will not be released,” reads a statement from police.
