Three elite cycling athletes from the Golden Horseshoe region will go on to represent Canada at Paris 2024.
Carson Mattern, 20, James Hedgcock, 22, and Michael Foley, 25, have all been named as members of Canada’s Olympic cycling team who will compete at this years international sports competition.
All three players have a local connection to the Golden Horseshoe region, with both Hedgcock and Mattern hailing from Ancaster and Foley having grown up in Milton.
Foley and Mattern will go onto represent Canada during the endurance events, and Hedgcock will take on the spring events.
In 2020, Canada’s Olympic cycling team took home a gold and bronze medal.
To date, the team has won 16 Olympic medals in total.
