Although the weather wasn’t the best to fly a kite, that didn’t stop people from enjoying the Indian Festival of Uttarayan in Hamilton on Saturday.
Close to a hundred people spent the day kite flying, listening to live music, and eating Indian food at Beverly Community Park.
The organizer of the kite fest, Krupali Sharma says this is a great way to share the Indian culture.
Traditionally, the festival is celebrated in January, but due to Canadian weather, Sharma says they have to celebrate it in the summer.
A local vendor says kite fest is a great way to socialize and build community
The festival will be back at Beverly Community Park from 11 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
