Hamilton woman’s body found on rural road in Lincoln

Niagara police have called in homicide investigators after a woman from Hamilton was found dead in their region this weekend.

The body was found at the side of a rural road in the town of Lincoln. Police say their investigation is in the early stages and will not disclose how the woman’s body got there or how she died.

The woman was discovered along Nineteenth Avenue near Seventh Street in the area of Jordan Station Saturday afternoon.

Police have identified the dead woman as 27-year-old Jessica Lynn St. Jules of Hamilton.

Niagara Regional Police Staff Sergeant, Andrew Knevel stated police are “currently speaking with next of kin, her family, and we’re trying to determine where she may have been.”

Just last month, police in Niagara wrapped up another case of a woman found beside a road in Lincoln.

In 1999, 26-year-old Nadine Gurczenski of Toronto was found dead in a roadside ditch in the same area as this weekend’s discovery.

Police were able to identify the killer in that case but say he died in 2017.

“We’re going to do everything we can to find all the answers for this family and do everything we can to determine what happened to this female,” said Knevel.

Residents in the area were surprised to hear about a body beside the road and said police had been around looking for security video and information.
