A 21-year-old woman from Hamilton has been identified as the victim who was shot and killed during a daytime shooting in Vaughan.

Police say they found Alisseaha Golar-Kotlar in the parking lot of the Vaughan Mills mall, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

She was taken to hospital and ultimately pronounced deceased.

Donte Morris Taylor, 22, also of Brampton, is facing one count of accessory after the fact to murder.

Police say they have not established a concrete connection between the victim and the two suspects, but they believe they are familiar with one another.

The investigation is being treated as a targeted incident, and officials say there is no threat to public safety.

Additionally, the department says that there no outstanding suspects.

“Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the Vaughan Mills parking lot, to please come forward,” the York police department said Wednesday.
