Hamilton woman charged after ‘hot tea thrown on demonstrators’

A 65-year-old woman from Hamilton is facing criminal charges after a reported “confrontation” with demonstrators in Ottawa last weekend.

According to police, the incident happened in the city’s downtown core on Saturday.

The suspect allegedly threw hot tea on demonstrators, which caused minor injuries.

Police did not identify which demonstration this incident occurred at. She is now facing four counts of assault.
