Hamilton man dies after losing control of e-bike

A 36-year-old man has died following a bike accident in Hamilton’s east end.

Police say they were called to Glen Valley Drive shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday for a single-vehicle collision.

When they arrived, they located a 36-year-old male suffering from injuries. The man was taken to hospital but was ultimately pronounced dead upon his arrival.

A report from police says the man lost control while riding and was ejected from the e-bike.

The department’s collision reconstruction unit briefly closed Glen Valley Drive yesterday, but it has since reopened.

Authorities are now seeking witnesses or surveillance footage of the crash.
