The Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) has issued a flood watch for the area due to ongoing rain and thunderstorm conditions.
In a written release, the HCA said “water levels and flows in all area watercourses are expected to increase significantly.”
While there remains some uncertainty as to the amount of rain that is expected to fall this week, residents are being advised to keep an eye on the sky and plan accordingly.
This flood watch comes just one week after the GTHA was battered by severe storms, triggering massive floods in some areas.
Burlington was hit particularly hard, declaring a level-two state of emergency after several homes were damaged and roads were flooded.
The flood watch will remain in effect in the area until Friday.
