Halton police seek suspect in sexual assault on Indian Creek Trail

Halton police are asking the public for help to identify a sexual assault suspect following an incident in Milton last weekend.

According to police, a woman was sexually assaulted by an unidentified man on Sunday on the Indian Creek Trail.

The woman entered the trail near Main Street and the Sherwood Community Centre, and was walking southbound around 11:10 a.m. when the assault happened.

In a release, Hamilton officials outlined the assault details.

“The suspect approached her from behind and slapped her buttocks with his hand. The male then reached into his own pants and began speaking to the female,” police said.

The victim continued walking down the trail, and the suspect fled towards Main Street, but it is unknown where exactly he exited the path.

Police say the suspect is white, around six-foot, and looks to be in his early 20s. He has a thin build, blonde, medium length hair, and is clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing a green button up short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes.

“Police are asking that anyone who may have been in the area on August 4, between 10:30 and 11:30 am and seen someone matching that description contact police,” Hamilton officials said.

“Investigators also ask that anyone who lives in the area or was driving in the area and has cameras check to see if they caught an image of a suspect matching that description.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sexual assault unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.
