Halton police on the hunt for burglar disguised as deliveryman

Halton police are asking the public for help locating a man they suspect of committing a string of burglaries.

The department says it began investigating a series of break-ins in and around Burlington in June.

So far, the force says the man is responsible for at least five break-ins near the Lakeshore area, spanning from Waterdown to Aldershot and Oakville.

They say the suspect is known to wear high-visibility work vests and ride a bicycle.

“He will also be seen carrying a newspaper or package to give the appearance that he is working,” police say. They add that he has allegedly targeted homes that are both locked and unlocked and has even entered some even when residents are home.

Officials describe the man as a 25 to 35-year-old with tanned skin. He’s been spotted with both a clean-shaven face and dark, short facial hair. His hair is short and black, and he’s approximately five feet ten inches tall with a medium build.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
