An arsonist has been arrested after he was caught lighting several fires across Burlington.
Halton police say they were first made aware of the incident on Friday, after several commercial properties near Guelph Line and Fairview Street had their dumpsters torched around 11:30 a.m.
Officers attended the area and quickly located and detained the suspect.
Burlington Fire crews were in tow, and the fires were put out, with only minor damages to the affected properties.
No one was injured.
Police say they have charged 42-year-old Matthew Grant with several counts of arson, mischief, uttering threats, obstructing a peace officer, possession of fentanyl and breaking a probation order.
Grant is now awaiting a bail hearing.
