First look at Tim Hortons Field’s new pre-game social space

The fan experience is about to get even better at Tim Hortons Field.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats say its new social space dubbed The Stipley Pre-Game Party will be ready just in time for the football team’s home opener on June 16 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

All fans in attendance will be able to enter the 18,000 sq. ft. area for free.

The first features they’ll notice will be the 20-foot Ticats and Forge FC-branded hammers, which pay homage to the city’s civic nickname, The Hammer.

In between the hammers will be the iconic steam whistle elevated 25 feet in the air, continuing the traditional touchdown celebration in Hamilton.

Just below that, fans can indulge at 10 new food and beverage kiosks located along the south wall of the stadium.

There will also be an incentive for fans to get to the stadium earlier. For one hour after gates open, attendees can treat themselves to $5 beers and $6 Cottage Springs.

Fans can shop for Tiger-Cats merchandise at two retail booths on the west side of the space as well.

To top it all off, the new area will have a permanent stage for live performances pre-game and at halftime of every Ticats home game.

Kick-off for the Ticats’ home opener is at 7 p.m. on June 16.
