Clean-up is underway Wednesday after three vehicles caught fire in an eight-vehicle crash on the Burlington Skyway Bridge.
As a result, Ontario Provincial Police closed all Toronto-bound lanes of the bridge during the afternoon rush hour.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, spokesperson for the OPP’s highway safety division, says one lane has reopened. However, the remaining lane closures are expected to last several hours.
Hamilton Paramedic Service Supt. Dave Thompson says one person was taken to a trauma centre and two others were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
There is no word yet on the cause of the collision or whether any charges will be laid.
This is a developing news story. More to come.
