The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a four-vehicle crash late last night on part of the QEW highway near Grimsby.
Police say the crash occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday near Casablanca Boulevard.
Three people were transported to hospital with what at first police categorized as life-altering injuries, but later reduced the status of them to non-life-altering.
The collision closed the Niagara-bound run of the road for several hours until tow trucks arrived to clear the scene.
By 4 a.m. the roadway had reopened.
Police say charges are pending, but did not specifically mention what the infractions were for.
The cause of the crash remains unclear. CHCH News has contacted authorities for more information but has not heard back.
