A recent review by the Ministry of Transportation has indicated that traffic signals are now warranted at the intersection of Highway 6 and Campbellville Road.
The project will be added to the Ministry’s highway improvement program and prioritized against other operational and safety needs on the provincial highway network.
Two-term Flamborough-Glanbrook MPP Donna Skelly said that she was made aware of the traffic concern at Highway 6 and Campbellville Road earlier this year by “concerned residents [who] forwarded photos and videos demonstrating the need for traffic signals at the intersection.”
“Following extensive meetings with Ministry officials, I am very pleased to confirm officials now believe traffic signals are warranted,” Skelly said.
The Ministry of Transportation has specific requirements that must be met before the installation of traffic signals can be considered, including the overall volume of traffic passing through a stop-controlled intersection, delays to side road traffic and collision incidents. The extent to which these requirements are met determines if the installation of traffic signals is warranted.
