Burlington man, 94, dies in collision on Dundas St.

A 94-year-old Burlington resident died in a car collision Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Dundas Street and Walkers Line.

The crash occurred just after 3 p.m.

A red Jeep Wrangler was travelling eastbound on Dundas Street when it collided with a grey Ford Focus that was heading westbound and turning left from Dundas Street onto Walkers Line.

The elderly passenger of the Ford Focus was transported to an out-of-region trauma centre and later died as a result of injuries.

Walkers Line was closed near the intersection and Dundas Street was down to one lane for a number of hours. Motorists were forced to take alternate routes.

The intersection re-opened around 8 p.m.

Any witnesses to the collision who have not spoken to police are requested to contact investigators at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
