Emergency crews are on scene in Brantford after a fire broke out on Colborne Street overnight.
Fire crews received reports of the fire shortly before 2 a.m.
According to officials, the fire is contained to a vacant building, and the cause remains unknown at this time.
An official with Brantford police says any vacant building that has fire damage is considered suspicious, but the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
There have been no reports of injuries.
Police say they will be on scene for much of the day, and the plaza is closed off to the public.
