An automated speed enforcement camera in Waterdown is the latest target of an ongoing trend of vandalism throughout the Golden Horseshoe.
The camera located on Dundas Street East near Avonsyde Boulevard has been marked up with black spray paint, including a clear expletive.
In April, three automated pole-mounted speed cameras were vandalized in the Niagara Region.
It’s alleged someone used a grinder to cut through the metal support beam and then smash the lens of cameras located near Twenty Valley Public School in Vineland, John Calvin School in West Lincoln, and Smithville District Christian High School.
Just over one month later, three automated speed enforcement cameras were vandalized again in Niagara Region.
