The owners of Bardō restaurant on James Street North announced on social media they would be shutting down operations after five years.
Speaking to CHCH News on Friday, the owners said the location was no longer “financially sustainable.”
But they are not the only businesses to shutter – walking down James Street North, many storefronts have closed down.
While customers say the pandemic created deficiencies, the owner of Electric Diner says there’s simply a decrease in foot traffic.
Art crawls and other public events have managed to boost local businesses somewhat, but operations are still struggling.
