73-year-old charged following robbery at Niagara Falls Dairy Queen

Niagara Regional Police have charged an elderly man in connection to a robbery that happened earlier in July at a Niagara Falls Dairy Queen.

Officers responded to a robbery just before 1 p.m. on July 10 to a Dairy Queen at 3509 Portage Road in Niagara Falls.

Detectives learned a man had entered the store and ordered ice cream before advising staff he had a gun and demanded money.

Police say they were able to identify and arrest 73-year-old Vincent Amodeo from Niagara Falls on July 24 in connection to the robbery.

Amodeo was charged with robbery and was scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Niagara Falls courthouse on July 25.
