2nd suspect arrested following assault and robbery at Niagara Bar

Niagara police have arrested a second man in connection to an assault and robbery at a bar in June in Niagara Falls.

Officers responded to a robbery on June 27, that took place between 2:15 and 2:30 a.m. at 5800 Main St., where two men reportedly assaulted a man and stole his jewellery.

One suspect allegedly pulled a gun and waved it at the man before escaping the scene. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives arrested 26-year-old Michael Velemirovich from Fort Erie on July 17 and charged him with offences including robbery with a firearm, and breaching a probation order.

Velemirovich is in police custody with an undisclosed future court date appearance.

Police previously arrested 22-year-old Jared Patcheson on July 10 in connection to the robbery. He was charged with offences including robbery using a firearm, kidnapping and possession of property and possession of cocaine.

Patcheson was held in custody pending a bail hearing that was scheduled to take place on July 11, at the courthouse in St. Catharines.
