2 dead, 2 injured after head-on crash in Niagara Falls

Officers with Niagara regional police say two people have died, and another two are injured after being involved in a head-on collision in Niagara Falls.

Police dispatched to the scene of the crash at Montrose Road, just south of Koabel Road, around 6:40 p.m.

The initial investigation determined an Audi and a Toyota Tundra truck had collided head-on.

The driver of the Audi, a 26-year-old Mississauga man, was found in critical condition and had to be extracted from the wreckage. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The passenger of the Audi, a 32-year-old man from Mississauga, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the other vehicle, both the driver and the passenger were taken to an out of region hospital for treatment, and are expected to live. They are both from Niagara Falls.

Roads in the area were closed for a period of time while an investigation took place, but all have since reopened.
