17-year veteran Hamilton police officer facing charges of harassment, uttering threats

A long-time Hamilton police officer is facing charges following a domestic incident, the force has unveiled.

No identifying information has been revealed at this time, but the department confirmed it was made aware of the incident on Tuesday.

Hamilton police say upon becoming aware of the incident, they asked the Niagara bureau to investigate.

As a result, a 40-year-old police officer who has been employed with the service for 17 years is facing charges of:

  • Harassment by Means of Repeated Telecommunications
  • Uttering Threats – Property
  • Mischief under $5,000 x2

Officials say the incident stems back as far as February of 2024.

“The officer is currently on medical leave from the Service and is scheduled to appear in a St. Catharines court on June 23, 2024,” the latest update from Hamilton police read.

No further details have been revealed at this time.
