One person has died, and four others have been hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision in Norfolk County.
Provincial police say the crash occurred near Windham Road 9 and Windham East Quarter Line Road around 7:11 p.m. Thursday.
Five people were involved in the crash, one of which was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say that, after examining the scene and witness statements, they determined that one of the vehicles travelling westbound on Windham Road 9 failed to stop at the intersection and collided with the other vehicle.
The crash ejected one of the vehicle’s occupants, who authorities say was taken to McMaster Children’s Hospital.
Two other passengers were taken to Norfolk General Hospital, one of whom sustained head trauma.
The last person injured was one of the drivers, who sustained broken ribs and severe internal organ damage.
The roadway was temporarily closed, but has since reopened.
