Hamilton and Burlington could see five to 10 centimetres of snow overnight Thursday into Friday, according to Environment Canada.
The weather agency issued a winter weather travel advisory in the afternoon Thursday and said a “band of lake effect snow off Lake Ontario” will develop overnight.
“The Friday morning commute will be affected,” read the weather advisory and added there could be a “significant impact” on the morning rush hour.
Snow is expected to slow down later Friday morning or in the early afternoon, according to Environment Canada. Poor visibility is expected at times due to heavy snow, it added.
“Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly,” said the weather agency.
Environment Canada recommends drivers slow down when roads are slippery and keep a safe distance.
