An early spring storm is sweeping through the Hamilton and Niagara region Wednesday morning, says Environment Canada.
The weather agency is warning between 25 and 40 mm of rain are expected.
Early Wednesday morning, the agency issued special weather statements for Hamilton, Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and Burlington, Ont.
They also apply to most of southern Ontario, including the GTA.
These areas can also expect strong easterly winds with gusts “possibly exceeding” 80 km/h, Environment Canada said.
Later in the day, there’s potential for wet snow, with the temperature falling from 9 C to around 4 C.
“A Colorado low is affecting the region,” said Environment Canada.
“Rain, which may be heavy at times is expected to continue early this morning.”
