The Toronto-bound lanes of the Queen Elizabeth Way are closed in Niagara Falls after a dump truck hit an overhead traffic sign on Friday, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

The Toronto-bound lanes of the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) are closed in Niagara Falls after a dump truck hit an overhead traffic sign on Friday, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
In a post to X, OPP said the northbound lanes are closed at Mountain Road as crews work to remove the damaged sign.
The dump truck had its box up as it drove down the highway, according to the social media post.
A picture from police shows the sign bent, warped and chipped from the impact.
OPP say the driver returned to the scene and will face charges.
Earlier this week, a dump truck with its bin up hit a pedestrian bridge that was under construction in Mississauga.
