Human remains discovered at Hamilton Harbour, police say

Human remains have been found at a pier in Hamilton Harbour, police said on Wednesday.

Remains were located between Pier 16 and Pier 17

Human remains have been found in the Hamilton Harbour, police said on Wednesday.

Hamilton police said, in a news release, the discovery was made on Tuesday shortly after 2:30 p.m., after the service received reports of possible human remains located between Pier 16 and Pier 17.

The Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service visited the scene and confirmed the remains are human, according to police.

Police said officers are searching along the shoreline and will remain in the area as the investigation continues.

CBC Hamilton contacted the service for more details, but the service declined to offer any other information.
