Hamilton man charged with murder in death of father of 3, police say

A Hamilton man has been charged in the killing of Randy Peardon, a father of three, who police say they found shot to death in an apartment building last month.

Alexander La, 23, was charged with second-degree murder, Hamilton police said a media release Friday.

La is already in custody for other charges.

Police said they were called to a three-storey apartment building near Gage Park, 100 Connaught Ave., at about 1:45 p.m. on June 15, where they found Peardon’s body.

He’d died from multiple gunshot wounds, said police.

Peardon was in the building for “a considerable amount of time” as people moved in and out of the building, police previously told reporters.

He was described as “an innocent victim in all of this and nothing suggests he should’ve died or been killed.”

Peardon lived in the area, but not at the address he was found, they said.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate.

“While we have a clear understanding of the circumstances surrounding the murder, investigators continue to examine the events that followed,” said the media release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
