Environment Canada is warning people in Hamilton, Burlington and the Niagara Region that Friday night will bring winds strong enough to break tree branches.

The weather agency says winds will gust up to 80 km/h then ease “late tonight into Saturday morning as the low pressure system departs.”

Environment Canada also warns that power outages may occur.

Conservation Halton said all parks in that region would be closed Saturday “due to forecasted high winds. Trails will re-open after they have been checked.” Those include Mount Nemo and Kelso parks.

The weather alert comes after two days of rain in the area.
