Death of Hamilton man, 46, being investigated as homicide after autopsy: police

Hamilton police say the death of a 46-year-old man over the weekend is now being investigated as a homicide.

In a media release Tuesday, police said paramedics responded to a “medical incident” at 36 Queen St. S., on Saturday, Aug. 3, at roughly 9:30 p.m.

Police say David Fugler, 46, was found unconscious in his room.

He was taken to hospital, but died early the next morning.

Hamilton police are considering the death a homicide after autopsy results from Monday.

The service said no arrests have been made, guns weren’t involved in the killing and Fulger wasn’t previously known to police.

Police said Fugler was “a beloved son, brother, and friend,” adding that his family has been notified of his death.

The service said officers will be near the property, speaking to witnesses and collecting video.

CBC Hamilton has contacted police for more details.
